1970 Pontiac GTO Trivia:
Restyled with a new front end with four exposed headlamps wrapped in an Endura bumper, new body creases, and a redesigned rear
end. A new 455 engine was added as well as the rare Vacuum Operated Exhaust option. The VOE option was an attempt to simplify the
old Roding trick of opening up the exhaust system for more power. With the VOE option, the driver could pull the knob under the dash
and engine vacuum was routed to a diaphragm on each muffler where it opened an internal baffle and gave the exhaust an express route
through the muffler, reducing backpressure and increasing power. The 1970 GTO with the 400-cid 366-hp V-8 was capable of 0-60 in 6
seconds and 14.6 seconds in the quarter mile.
